Leanne “L-Stringz” Holmes

………….an artist from Atlanta, GA, has been classically trained in violin for close to two decades.and has developed her niche in performing contemporary music such as Hip-Hop and RnB. Her music career started in high school, where she started performing solo as L-Stringz at the age of 16.

A graduate of Dunwoody High School, L-Stringz’ career continued to flourish in college at Hampton University where she majored in Music Performance. During her time at Hampton, she continued to perform professionally, including events tailored for Historically Black Colleges and Universities such as the HBCU Awards (by HBCU Digest), MEAC, CIAA, and is the only violinist to perform the National Anthem at Honda Battle of the Bands 2 years in a row. Despite her performance schedule, she remained active on campus including serving as Miss Phi Mu Alpha for the Pi Beta Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, inc., Miss 1914 for the Beta Gamma Chapter of Phi Beta sigma Fraternity, and Miss 1947 for the Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, inc. Outside of her on campus involvement, L-Stringz was featured on Married to Medicine and the season finale for STAR on Fox.

After college, L-Stringz moved to Baltimore, Maryland continued to elevate, performing for numerous events and organizations such as Rolling Out Magazine, the Apollo Theater 90th anniversary celebration, Gov, Wes Moore Black History Day, CareFirst, Def Jam, the 85 South Show, and more. In 2023, she created her band “The Gentlemen”, composed of Keys Bass and Percussion. As a collective, they have taken off in the Baltimore and Pennsylvania arts scene, headlining events such as “Jazzy Friday” at Clifton Mansion, 4MLK Building Opening, the 40th anniversary for the Baltimore County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority inc, and the 25th Anniversary Hope Station Gala, and more. Additionally, L-Stringz and The Gentlemen have performed for Taste of the DMV Festival, AFRAM 2025, and Diner En Blanc Baltimore 2025

In every performance, L-Stringz provides a “New Music Experience” that engages the audience in any setting to be able to connect with music on a more personal level. Her goal when performing is to show violin in spaces that you don’t see. Her love for music and performance has lead L-Stringz into also curating events herself to showcase the string arts in different communities. Her annual Valentines Day event, An Evening of Love, is hosted throughout different venue spaces in Baltimore to highlight new places within the area. Through event curation, L-Stringz as been able to work with organization such as The Black Arts District and Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) to bring these concepts come into fruition.

Outside of her performing, L-Stringz is an advocate for arts education and is a proud initiated member into Sigma Alpha Iota (E-OTA) International Music Fraternity, Inc.
